Retaining Wall - the wall itself is completed. There are some mistakes to correct, acid wash, backfill, clean up and a few adjustments to make. One good day of work could complete this. The steps near the pool, and the large set of steps are major concerns. F came over June 29 and says he will take care of it. We have had 4 good weather days, but no one has showed up to do anything. F's stone guy will be there supposedly Saturday July 3. I'm holding my breath. I'm waiting for a tractor to show up. If it gets done at all, it will not be before July 10.
Pool - The pool surface is being prepped for tile installation. The cracks in the plaster have been repaired and the piers to prevent further sinkage have been installed. I laid out all the tiles in the most appealing way for the tile man to install them. I have a good feeling about what is going on here. The tile man is Manuel. July 10 is the promised date. July 24 is more realistic.
Pool Plumbing - Caesar and Gregorio are doing the plumbing and electrical work. I dont see anything happening with the plumbing repair. Jeremy is getting onto him so this should start any day now. Im predicting July 7 completion.
Pool Lighting - Caesar did get the lighting plan completed. There is a controller on the wall and it looks like it works good and will be bright. Wow, done in one day! Way to go, Caesar. June 26!
Pavillion - June 28, Jeremy and Mike and I went over the specs for the Pavillion. It will have six columns and three A frame trusses. It will include electrical sockets for fans or other appliances. August 10 if nothing goes wrong. Right.
Landscaping is complete at this point, but we will want them to come back around July 13 to install 8 pallets of St. Augustine grass. Does anything sound hotter than July 13?
Sprinkler System - After a very rocky start for the front yard sprinkler system, we may actually have a working system. Mike F. Came out on Monday the 28th and even though it rained a little, he went through every valve and every sprinkler head and got them working. It's not good as new but almost. We are going to wait till next year (at least) to do anything in the back. $297.50. What a bargain! Mike gets the hero award so far.
Windows - No word recently from the window man, I'm not counting him out yet, but it's not looking good. 2022
Shop Bathroom - Daniel has me down for the week of August 11
Hole filling and dirt spreading - RS made three appointments (of his choosing) and was a no-show and I have not heard from him. I'm scratching him from the list. Uprite is supposed to spread out all the dirt, and we have had 4 good days in a row with no tractor showing up. July 10
Garage Cleaning - Sharlette has helped and it's made a big difference. An hour of garage cleaning would make a huge dent. Im going to get with it June 30 - July 3
The Pastor's Yard - I mowed and weedeated June 24/25. I started again June 29, partial weedeated, killed weeds, mowed some tight spaces and took down the trash can. They are returning July 7, so I sure want to have everything looking great by then. My attack plan is to do a lot more weed eating then edge and mow on the 5th and 6th. I should probably mow June 30, and then again on July 5/6. This has been good therapy to combat the negative vibes of the retaining wall and I want to make this look really sharp.
